About Me

Stephanie Smith,

Qualifying MACP Counselling Practicum Student

Hi, I’m Stephanie Smith, a practicum counsellor currently completing my Master of Arts. Counselling Psychology. I work under the supervision of experienced clinicians while offering compassionate, affordable support to individuals, youth, and families.

Before entering the counselling field, I spent over a decade as a classroom teacher, where I witnessed firsthand the emotional challenges that so many young people and families face. This experience, combined with my own personal journey through life transitions, parenting, and healing, led me to pursue a path in mental health support.

My approach is person-centred, strength-based, and grounded in empathy, drawing from Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and CBT. My work is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and a belief that people are the experts in their own lives. I tailor each session to support the goals and needs of the individual in front of me.

I often work with clients dealing with anxiety, low mood, school stress, burnout, life transitions, and identity exploration. My goal is to create a safe, affirming space where you can feel heard and supported.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or just need someone to talk to, I am here to help.
